Anthony has spent his life mastering competitive games and sports. He earned his Candidate Chess Master title in 2015 and ranks amongst Australia's top chess players. He also won the A grade National Racquetball Circuit in 2017 and finished 5th in the Australian Open. High level State grade Squash is a regular part of his life. When Anthony is not competing, he teaches and coaches chess from beginners all the way up to Master level. Results have included both individual and team National Championship victories.
Anthony was apolitical until 2020 when he was affected by Melbourne's lockdowns. He peacefully protested for the basic right to earn a living — and this government answered with rubber bullets. In the years since, he has watched authorities stand by while mobs intimidated Jewish Melbournians off their own streets. "Everyone has the right to live their lives how they wish, the government seems to have forgotten that basic fact. Libertarians recognise that the government isn't the solution to the problem, more often than not, they are the cause..."
Victoria has become so heavily taxed, often for no tangible benefits, that it has become clear someone needed to step in. "Who else but me?"... "We can't wait for other people to fix our problems, we all need to play our part, so I'm throwing my hat in the ring, putting my money where my mouth is and stepping up to change things".
Anthony grew up around Brighton and has seen the electorate treated like the state's purse, generating tax revenue that gets wasted on everything except for what Brighton residents and businesses most dearly need. Crime, government regulations and the neglect of both failing infrastructure and the desires of Brighton residents have all gone on for too long.
"Brighton needs a strong voice, willing to speak for them, even at the potential personal cost of saying what is dangerous to say, but must be said. I am that person."
